Our Work

Each day the United Gospel Rescue Mission takes care of the less fortunate in Butler County, and the surrounding areas.  Our mission, first and foremost, is to give the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those with whom we come in contact.  Our year-long residential treatment program helps men find the love of Christ while teaching them how to live free from drugs and alcohol.  Some of the men who come to us do not have alcohol or drug addiction issues.  However, they have been released from prison, or life's struggles have thrown them into despair and pain.  They are ready to give up. We have an open door to give them a safe place to pour out their struggles, begin healing the wounds that life has dealt, and give them the tools to live a different life - a "New Life".   Our New Life Program offers men from all walks of life, the new hope in Jesus Christ that is found through a personal relationship with Him.

CATERING: Do you need an event catered?  Many do not know that we train our men to cook meals and serve.  The Rescue Mission has won the Taste of the Town and has been the preferred caterer to several service clubs, businesses, and special events.  As our men labor preparing the meal for these events, you can save dollars by catering your event with the United Gospel Rescue Mission. You can also host your event in our dining room.  Butler County has their employee Christmas Dinner at our facility each year.  We have also hosted Poplar Bluff Ham Radio Club, Butler County Search and Rescue, the Boy Scouts, Kiwanis, Rotary, and the Lions Club.

Call Rev. Gregory Kirk, to find out if United Gospel Catering Service can host your event!  Our motto is: "We Smoke Meat Not Drugs!"
